Karl got a surprise email from Glenn Danuser, the vice president of Danuser Machine Co. concerning a CD-1 post hole digger in Oklahoma. Of course, Karl followed up immediately with a phone call. He found that the digger had been mounted on a John Deere 140 and used by a father and son in their fencing business. It had not been used for 20 years. Karl and his father made the long trip from Pennsylvania to Oklahoma to pick up the digger and installed it on one of his tractors. The complete story can be found in the January/February 2016 issue of Lawn & Garden Tractor magazine. It’s a great magazine and a really neat story. With the purchase of this digger (Serial No. 1195), Karl sold the one he’d been restoring to Jeff Rottkamp—another article in this section.
